I found such posts helped me a lot at the beginning of my backpacking adventures, so here goes mine.
I packed for a weekend trip (Friday evening – Sunday afternoon). We are spending the nights at a backcountry campsite, so there will be things like privys and wood but no running water.
We don’t expect to hike much. The hike from the parking lot to the campsite is only 1 mile, and on the hiking day we will maybe do 4-5 miles. If I was doing a 10-12 miler, I’d definitely pack less 🤪.
Expected weather: 55 – 71 F (13 – 22 C), with a slight chance of rain.
